Old Review: 5 Ups & 5 Downs
3. Alex Wolff Steals The Show
Though the cast is generally a mixed bag, there is one actor who gives a markedly stronger performance than everyone else, and that's Alex Wolff.
Wolff shows up in the middle of the movie as the 15-year-old version of Guy and Prisca's young son Trent, and is superbly convincing as a young boy having to deal with rapidly ageing into adulthood.
Wolff adopts the believable attitude and mannerisms of a boy struggling to comprehend what's happening to him, adding yet another solid performance to his cachet following his superb prior work in Hereditary and the recent Nicolas Cage drama Pig.
It's an extremely challenging part, to get into the mindset of a boy being fast-forwarded through both mental and physical growth, but he pulls it off exceptionally well.
