One What If? Scenario For Each Marvel Film

What If Hawkeye Was Never Brainwashed, But A Different Avenger Was?

The first Avenger we see in The Avengers is Hawkeye, and before the title card has even graced the screen Hawkeye is brainwashed and turned to the other side to serve Loki. This was actually a pretty smart idea to make Hawkeye stand out from some of his more powerful co-stars, but it would be great to see how a different Avenger being brainwashed would affect the plot.

Of the remaining members any would be great to see. Iron Man would pose a serious global threat with all his weaponry, Black Widow could play a double agent just like she does in the comics from time to time, a brainwashed Hulk needs no explanation, Thor being Loki's pawn would be Loki's ultimate fantasy and Captain America being turned would be a huge demoralising move for the team.

Any of these would be really fun to see. It also comes with the added bonus that we'd get to see Hawkeye being a team member from the very start, rather than having to wait until the final act.
