One What If? Scenario For Each Marvel Film

What If Loki Found The Aether?

Thor: The Dark World is often cited as one of the worse MCU films to ever release, for a number of reasons. But the saving grace of the film has to be the relationship between Thor and Loki. Leaning into this relationship would probably be the best direction to take a potential What If episode for the film.

Had Loki found the Aether before Jane Foster somehow, the entire plot would have changed. The writers could take the narrative in two different directions. The first would be Loki using the power of the Aether for his own personal means, maybe even teaming up with Malekith in an attempt to seek vengeance on Odin.

On the other hand, Loki could return to Asgard seeking help as the Aether slowly kills him. With Malekith hot on his tail, Loki may have no where else to go than Asgard. The relationship between Thor and Loki has always been the highlight of the Thor films, so it seems crucial that the What If episodes utilise it's unique storytelling format to explore the relationshio futher.
