What If Falcon Was Secretly A Hydra Agent All Along?

The best aspect of Captain America: The Winter Soldier is how it took the superhero genre and blended it with an espionage setting. Throughout the film Captain America is unsure on who he can trust, and his inner circle quickly shrinks down to just Black Widow and Falcon.

But what if the film really lent into the Spy genre and introduced a secret Hydra agent on the team?

Have Captain America be aware that there must be a spy. Throughout the film he could suspect Black Widow, Nick Fury, Maria Hill and maybe even the other Avengers. But Cap never suspects Sam Wilson as he's just a random friend he met a few days before the events of the film. But that makes him the perfect candidate.

How this would change Cap's outlook on the modern world is hard to say, but it would probably leave him a more jaded individual. Would Cap even be able to save the day with Falcon turning on him? A sinister reveal that starts with 'on your left' would be incredibly chilling.
