7. All Of Us Strangers, Saltburn, The Iron Claw & More Get Totally Shut Out

Every year there are a glut of highly acclaimed films which, for one reason or another, end up being shut out completely by the Academy.

It can be attributed to a few major causes - studios not putting enough marketing might behind these films and voters in turn refusing to seek them out on their own, or the films being more popular with critics than the Academy's general voting body.

The most shocking film to be shut out this year was certainly Andrew Haigh's wildly raved-about All of Us Strangers, while Saltburn and The Iron Claw both had armies of passionate cheerleaders which translated into zero nominations each.

Elsewhere Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret., The Killer, and Priscilla received nothing, while Wonka shockingly wasn't recognised in any below-the-line fields, and John Wick: Chapter 4 failed to pick up any technical nods either.

There can never be room for every worthy movie to be nominated, but shutting all these films out completely? C'mon.
