5. Junior (Best Original Song)
Ever wondered what it would like to see Arnold Schwarzenegger give birth. Well you can witness it here with Junior. The film stars Arnold as a scientist who undergoes a male pregnancy as a science experiment Maybe the concept is just too weird for the film to be taken seriously despite the film offering up some moral questions. Its mainly designed to be a hilarious comedy hat plays off the pregnancy but it never really gains any laughs at all, just feeling forced and unable to really move forward with the initial idea. It may be a case of thinking that some ideas would be hilarious, for example having de Vito take a sonogram of a heavily pregnant Schwarzenegger, but instead it sort of leaves you feel a little ill. While mildly successful at the box office the film received mixed reviews from critics, however the film did receive an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song. In 2007 a Scottish artist named Sandy Smith launched an essay writing competition asking participants to prove that Junior was the greatest film ever made. The competition received fewer entries than there were prizes. Thats all that needs to be said.
