19. Grace of Monaco
My gut tells me that this will mostly be a play for Best Actress, but the thing that gives it a little more of a chance at a Best Picture nomination is the good ol' Weinstein Company. Now the Weinstein's have acquired many films over the years that ended up only being competitive in acting races (such as My Week with Marilyn), but the thing is, if Harvey gets the faintest sniff that Grace of Monaco has a shot at Best Picture, he's likely to go all out. Grace of Monaco, if you haven't heard or guessed, is a biopic on the life of actress and real life princess, Grace Kelly. Starring Nicole Kidman as Grace Kelly and directed by French director Oliver Dahan, the film specifically chronicles Grace's role in the political conflict between her husband, Prince Rainer III, and French President Charles De Gaulle over France's impending invasion of Monaco. Again, I'm doubtful of the film's chances, but it's one of the best long-shots out there.
