Will Win: American Hustle Should Win: Her Surprise Win: Dallas Buyers Club The Screenplay award are always tricky to predict. Usually the same film that wins best picture and editing snatches them up, but there are exceptions. In no small part thanks to the Golden Globes, American Hustle is going to be that greedy behemoth that snatches up everything 12 Years A Slave and Gravity have no stake in. This looks set to happen, especially as David O. Russell's script are always very well-written, an it's actually a very snappy, witty film with lots of juicy dialogue and character development. Luckily, Her has defied the cynics and managed to land quite a few nominations. It would be nice to see a Spike Jonze film take the award for a thoroughly relevant and contemporary movie which has heart. Usually a well-received Romance Drama can upset the big-hitters and take the writing awards, so here's hoping this happens with Her. Then again, Dallas Buyers Club is another big Drama dominating the awards. It may just sneak in there and nab the award from under American Hustle's nose.
