Wow. I was dreading to have to call Minions an Oscar nominated movie, but the Academy really out-did themselves in this category that just improves each year - this is an exciting nomination list, with varied animation types (two are stop motion) and no "Oh, it's by a mainstream studio, so let's honour it" nod. Some will argue that Anomalisa should really be the winner here, but c'mon. Inside Out isn't just the year's best animated film - it's the best full stop.
