Only three movies can get nominated here, but there's plenty of competition, as this is quite a broad category that allows movies that wouldn't typically get recognised to scoop some Oscar glory - look no further than Suicide Squad's surprise win in this last year for proof of that.

Darkest Hour, with those very showy Gary Oldman prosthetics, is the frontrunner here, but the other spots could go a few ways. A superhero movie like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 could sneak in, since the first won here, as could Netflix's much-maligned Bright. I, Tonya and Wonder both have some great work here too, and are more likely to play well to voters.
