Who Should Win

Dunkirk

Dunkirk is the kind of film that makes your ears bleed in the best possible way (if such a thing can ever be considered positive). It's a humming, drumming war movie that explodes in a cacophony of sound, especially when seen (and heard) in IMAX, but with some slower, softer moments too that add layers of emotion to the chaos.

Who Will Win

Dunkirk

War movies tend to do very well in both sound categories, but especially editing. Those big, booming moments of Dunkirk, from the bombs dropping to the bursts of gunfire to the ships zooming by overhead, really standout and are almost surely going to be the go-to choice for most voters.
