8. Queen's Rough Opening Performance
The show kicked off on a downer with an iffy musical performance from Queen, who ripped through a medley of "We Will Rock You" and "We Are the Champions" to a wildly mixed response from both the live audience and viewers at home.
Between singer Adam Lambert's inability to match the gravitas of Freddie Mercury - a tall order if there ever was one, admittedly - to the wince-inducing cuts to various A-listers awkwardly rocking back and forth to the music (or in Christian Bale's case, doing nothing at all), it wasn't quite the rabble-rouser the producers clearly hoped it would be.
Brian May's still got it, for sure, and it was preferable to a bloated 15-minute opening speech, but an oddly flat way to open the show regardless.
