Oscars 2019 Nominations: 13 Biggest Shocks, Snubs & Surprises

6. Snub: Emily Blunt - Best Actress/Best Supporting Actress

Emily Blunt A Quiet Place

Emily Blunt had one hell of a 2018, showcasing great range in going from the horror A Quiet Place to joyous musical Mary Poppins Returns, and being the best performer in both of them.

While neither film were awards favourites, they've been in the conversation enough, and that's doubly true for Blunt. She's picked up Golden Globes, Critics' Choice, and a few other nominations for Mary Poppins, but the biggest sign of her chances came with the SAG Award nominees, where she was named in both Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress.

With spots up for grabs in both here, Blunt should've had a great chance of landing in one of the two, but instead comes away without either.
