As with the sound awards, this is where you're going to find the films with budgets over $100m, and is the place to look if you're wondering where there'll be a lot of superhero flicks and other popular movies represented.

It's another that has been narrowed down to 10 films, including: Ant-Man and the Wasp, Avengers: Infinity War, Black Panther, Christopher Robin, First Man, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Mary Poppins Returns, Ready Player One, Solo: A Star Wars Story, and Welcome To Marwen. The Visual Effects Society has thrown a spanner in the works here, snubbing Black Panther and Mary Poppins Returns, while relegating First Man to the Supporting Category. That's despite those films racking up a number of nominations elsewhere (not that Black Panther deserves it after that third act) this season, which means there could well be a few surprises here.
