Oscars 2019: Predicting All The Nominees

10. Film Editing

First Man Ryan Gosling
Universal

A nomination in Best Editing tends to be crucial for Best Picture, with all but one of the last 10 winners of the latter having at least a nomination in this category. They don't need to win - Argo, in 2012, was the last film to do the Editing/Picture double that used to be so common - but expect a number of Best Picture candidates in the mix here. Roma, A Star Is Born, and The Favourite should all be locked in, while First Man's Tom Cross is popular with the Academy. The final spot is leaning towards Vice, but Widows (after a Critics' Choice nom) and Bohemian Rhapsody (BAFTA and American Cinema Editors Awards) are in contention too.

Nominees:

First Man

The Favourite

Roma

A Star Is Born

Vice
