Oscars 2022: 10 Possible Contenders For Next Year's Ceremony

6. The French Dispatch

Wes Anderson's first live action film since The Grand Budapest Hotel is a highly anticipated one. Anderson is a seven-time nominee and his unique and uncompromising vision has led to some of the most widely original films in recent years.

The Grand Budapest Hotel felt like Anderson's most accessible and universally praised work, especially in the eyes of the Academy, so they are likely eager to see what he is going to do next.

The French Dispatch is an anthology of sorts following several journalists that work at the same establishment in an American outpost in a fictional French city. It is likely to be as charming and witty as all Anderson projects are known to be.

With perhaps the best ensemble coming this year that features seven Oscar winners and a further eight Oscar nominees including Tilda Swinton, Frances McDormand, Benicio Del Toro, Bill Murray and Christoph Waltz. The French Dispatch is shaping up to be an embarrassment of riches.
