Oscars 2022: All 20 Actors Who Could Get Their First Oscar Nomination

3. Jamie Dornan - Belfast

Jamie Dornan has finally shaken off the stink of the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy this year with his show-stealing performance in Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar and, in more serious stakes, his roundly praised supporting turn in Belfast.

Dornan plays Buddy's put-upon father, whose chemistry with screen wife CaitrĂona Balfe has been especially well-received.

Though it's possible that Dornan and fellow Best Supporting Actor prospect CiarĂ¡n Hinds could split the vote - resulting in either one or both of them being left out - the performances both seem popular enough that it's more probable they'll both be nominated.

Again, it'll help that this field is a bit soft this year, but that's no backhanded compliment against what should be a major career glow-up for Dornan.
