Oscars 2024: 20 Insanely Early Predictions

Best Adapted Screenplay is typically one of the most competitive and tough-to-predict Oscar categories, and this year's field of potential nominees is absolutely stacked.

It's going to be a bloodbath between Killers of the Flower Moon, Dune: Part Two, Oppenheimer, The Color Purple, and Barbie, not to mention any other less-expected nominees who slide into contention.

There will likely be a strong sentiment to reward Dune: Part Two if it can successfully adapt the novel's tricky second half, but the smart money is surely on Eric Roth and Martin Scorsese for adapting Killers of the Flower Moon - an extremely well-received slice of crime fiction.

Roth, an Oscar favourite with seven nominations and one win to his name (for Forrest Gump), has a strong chance of winning another Oscar either way, given that he's also a co-writer on Dune: Part Two.
