Oscars: Ranking Every Best Animated Feature Film

11. Finding Nemo

Finding Nemo
Pixar

Like Frozen a decade later, Finding Nemo came out during a slow year for animated movies, with its competitors Brother Bear and The Triplets of Belleville having both slipped from public memory since their release. Regardless, the fishy adventure film is still one of the Academy's best victors.

The story of clown fish who races across the sea to save his missing son with the help of an amnesiac blue tang, Finding Nemo revels in its underwater setting to create a colourful, visually stunning thriller that's as funny as it is educational, and as touching in its family themes as it is endlessly quotable.

There are moments when its subplots threaten to derail it, but between the packed cast - which includes Albert Brooks, Ellen DeGeneres and Willem Dafoe - and thrills, it's absolutely an all-timer for Pixar and the Academy.
