Oscars: Ranking Every Best Animated Feature Film

10. Coco

Coco Pixar
Pixar

One of Pixar's most thoughtful and thematically deep features, Coco concerns a young boy who gets trapped in the afterlife and works with his deceased grandfather to get back home and pursue his love of music.

Visually glorious to behold and with heaps to say about cultural identity, death and the power of music, the film is bursting with great songs, compelling characters, and a distinct sense of wonder that makes it utterly engrossing for the whole family.

Though it had its work cut out for it against the phenomenal drama Loving Vincent, for its daring themes and touching message alone it remains an Oscar more than deserving of its praise. It'll make you think, sing, and maybe cry, and achieves its tricky ambitions at every turn. Beautiful.
