Pacific Rim: Uprising - Ranking Every Major Character From Worst To Best

5. Nate Lambert

Pacific Rim Uprising Scott Eastwood
Universal

Nate Lambert (Scott Eastwood) is essentially the film's version of Gunnery Sgt. Hartman...minus all the intensity and charisma you would hope for. Again, though, for the standards of this movie, he qualifies as not-terrible.

As a character, Nate is your prototypical harda** mentor, and while the film teases some extra complexity through his adversarial relationship with his former co-pilot Jake, it ultimately doesn't amount to all that much.

He's stern, he's a capable soldier and he's stuck in that weird aforementioned love triangle with Jake, but he's largely just a handsome cardboard cutout, whose main character trait is that he's extremely good-looking. Eastwood's rather wooden performance doesn't help. Hmm.
