Paranormal Activity - The Ghost Dimension: 12 Ways It Ruins The Franchise

7. The Big Reveal Is Extremely Predictable

The filmmakers promised that "everything would be revealed" in The Ghost Dimension, and the main lingering question was simply what Toby and the coven's ultimate plan was. It's explained later in the film that their scheme all along has been to create a human body for Toby, which for reasons that are scarcely explained, requires the Fleeges family being lured to live in Katie and Kristi's childhood home, which has since been rebuilt after the fire there, so that the coven can acquire a drop of their daughter Leila's blood...all because she was born on the same day as Hunter? Anyway, wasn't it already incredibly predictable that Toby would try to transmute into tangible form? It's pretty much the most basic next step the writers could defer to, and so when the "bomb" is dropped, it's really with more of a whimper than a crash.
