Paul W.S. Anderson’s Films Ranked From Worst To Best
7. Resident Evil: The Final Chapter
Few Final Chapter movies rarely turn out to be the “final” chapter; just look at Saw or Friday The 13th. That’s how the last Resident Evil is being sold, with Milla returning to The Hive from the first movie to save the human race; a typical day for Alice then.
For those who like the series The Final Chapter should be a satisfying ending, though it still leaves a lot of series plot holes unresolved. There are a couple of decent twists and the action is suitably outlandish – someone was clearly watching Mad Max: Fury Road – but the editing is far too hyper so it gets a little exhausting.
The supporting cast are forgettable fodder and it lacks some of the daft charm of the other sequels, but if you’ve followed the series to this stage, it’s a decent way to wrap things up.
