Watch 12 minutes of brand new behind-the-scenes footage from the Lord of the Rings prequel.

Peter Jackson has released the sixth production video from the New Zealand set of The Hobbit, this time focusing on his work on The Hobbit: There & Back Again, the second of his two part Lord of the Rings prequel. Debuting on the film's Facebook page, the production diary clocks in at over 12 minutes of brand new behind-the-scenes footage and lots of talk from Jackson and his ridiculously talented and dedicated crew in bringing J.R.R. Tolkien's masterpiece to life for the second time. You can watch the new production diary embedded below; The two part Hobbit epic follows Bilbo (Martin Freeman) as he joins Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) and his 12 dwarf companions (Graham McTavish, Ken Stott, Aidan Turner, Dean O€™Gorman, Mark Hadlow, Jed Brophy, Adam Brown, John Callen, Peter Hambleton, William Kircher, James Nesbitt, Stephen Hunter) to reclaim the treasures of their dwarf kingdom, Erebor. The treasures which have been claimed by the mighty dragon, Smaug (voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch), are of untold wonders. Their travels with the wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellan) lead them through mazes of treacherous tunnels and mountainsides, lands invested with orcs and goblins, battles along the slopes of the mighty Lonely Mountain, and a run in with a peculiar creature by the name of Gollum (Andy Serkis). Also reprising their roles from The Lord of the Rings are Orlando Bloom(Legolas), Cate Blanchett (Galadriel), Hugo Weaving (Elrond), Christopher Lee (Saruman) and in book-end scenes Elijah Wood (Frodo) and Ian Holm (Bilbo Baggins). Mikael Persbrandt (Beorn), Evangeline Lilly (Tauriel), Lee Pace (Thranduil), Stephen Fry (Master of Lake-town), Luke Evans (Bard the Bowman) and Sylvester McCoy (Radagast the Brown) also support. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is coming this December 14th with The Hobbit: There & Back Again coming December 2013.
