If there's one thing you want a Pirates of the Caribbean movie to get right, it's the action, and after Rob Marshall's rather underwhelming job on the last film, it's a relief that Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg fare much better with their imaginative and diverse action sequences.

Leaping briskly from set-piece to set-piece, the pair actually manages to bring something new to the table for the series, and even if the aforementioned finale doesn't live up to the fun of the earlier action, the majority of the movie looks great and even serves up arguably some of the franchise's all-time best action to date.

To that end the film definitely succeeds, and thankfully, there's a ton of action for fans to soak in.
