Pitch Perfect 3 Review: 3 Ups & 6 Downs

2. John Michael Higgins & Elizabeth Banks Steal The Show (Again)

Pitch Perfect 3 Elizabeth Banks
Universal

John Michael Higgins and Elizabeth Banks have been a terrific fixture of the Pitch Perfect movies, playing a commentary duo who frequently interject the various a capella competitions to crack wise about the Bellas' apparent lack of talent and definite lack of finesse.

In the third film, they're making a documentary about the Bellas, which basically consists of them following the team around the world and filming their various failures.

It's low-hanging fruit comedically, but Higgins and Banks sell it as well as anyone could be expected to, their matter-of-fact, often deadpan delivery resulting in some of the film's funniest moments (again, of which there are disappointingly few).
