Pixar: Ranking Their Films From Best To Worst

13. Cars

Cars Pixar making a car movie was inevitable, Pixar CCO John Lasseter is a noted car fanatic and bringing cars to life seemed like a logical step for the animation giants, but the two Cars movies are by far the least loved in their catalogue. A reason for this is their lack of attachment to the human world, as unlike things such as Toy Story which is fantasy set in the real universe, Cars is in a world of its own, and the lack of human heart leaves the audience cold. The film isn't without merit of course, some parts are witty and charming, and supporting character, Mater is the only real highlight, as central character, Lightning McQueen is unlikeable and boring. Cars suffers from the incredibly high standard Pixar have set themselves, but the fact that children would much rather re-watch their old copy of Monsters Inc than sit through this again says it all. Cars, ultimately, is a wasted opportunity, suffering from a lack of warmth and human connection, with its predictable plot and it bores the adults quicker than any other Pixar movie.
