Predicting 10 Biggest Box Office Movie Bombs Of 2016

8. Pride And Prejudice And Zombies

Zombies are all the rage these days, managing to infiltrate almost every genre in the last few years from comedy (Zombieland), to romance (Warm Bodies) and even the family drama (Maggie). It was only a matter of logical progression before they made their way into the costume drama, which they do thanks to the big-screen adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's cult favorite novel. The project was first announced back in December 2009, with no less than Natalie Portman in the lead role and David O. Russell set to write and direct. Following years in development hell, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies finally began filming in 2014 with Burr Steers both directing and scripting, and an ensemble of young talent including Lily James, Sam Riley, Jack Huston and Douglas Booth filling out the cast. Grahame-Smith's literary genre mashups have been translated to the big screen before, but unfortunately that gave us the disappointing and tonally-confused Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Pride and Prejudice and Zombie's PG-13 rating is also an incredibly strange move; its hard to imagine the movie appealing to the younger demographic, while the February 5 release date falls a week after the Coen's Hail, Caesar! and a week before the highly-anticipated Deadpool and Zoolander No. 2, which will no doubt keep older audiences occupied and limit the project's chances of box office success.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
