Predicting 20 Comic Book Movies Announced In 2017

Putting aside the fact that it absolutely won't be called Homecoming 2, because that makes no sense at all, there's no way Marvel don't already have plans for sequels beyond the web-slingers return to the MCU. You'd have to suspect that they were forced to map out their plans very tightly to Sony when they were initially at the table discussing sharing the rights in the first place.

Hopefully, Marvel will know to buck the trend established by two Spidey franchises already and not over-stuff with villains in a horribly distracting manner. You'd have to suspect that the sequel would be Marvel's opportunity to introduce one of Spidey's really top-shelf villains - a Doc Ock or a Goblin (yes, again), to escalate the threat to him after Homecoming.

Any Evidence?

Again, there's no way that the deal with Sony didn't stipulate sequels. It's supremely unlikely that Disney and Marvel would have agreed to the - no doubt major - financial requirements of that deal without knowing that they weren't just paying for a glorified, temporary cameo.

And given how well Homecoming is tracking, an excellent box office performance is almost guaranteed, which itself guarantees a sequel being greenlit very quickly.
