It would be incredibly foolish to expect anything less than strong results from Illumination Entertainment, given their billion-dollar success with the Despicable Me franchise and the pervasive brand identity of The Grinch.

Even with Fantastic Beasts and Wreck-it-Ralph sequels following shortly after its own release, nothing is likely to stop the Illumination train thanks to marketing that plays perfectly to family audiences, namely the obvious dynamite of "from the studio who brought you Minions."

It won't be one of the studio's top-shelf hits, but an immense return-on-investment all the same.
