Predicting 20 Highest Grossing Movies Of 2019
17. Men In Black: International ($550 Million)
Release Date: July 14
Though the marketing for the new MiB movie hasn't really sold it yet, for many the appeal of Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson re-teaming from Thor: Ragnarok will be enough to make it a must-see.
Furthermore, the Men in Black branding is undeniably iconic, and from what we've seen so far, this feels like an attempt to shift the series into billion-dollar blockbuster territory, beyond the slightly more modest tenor of the prior three films.
It'll only barely crack a half-billion dollars when it's all said and done, but for a film that's releasing a week after The Secret Life of Pets 2 and a week before Toy Story 4, that'd be a mighty fine performance.
It won't beat MiB3's franchise-best of $624 million, but it's a great return on a $150 million budget all the same, and should ensure the quick greenlighting of a sequel, reviews be-damned.
