Predicting The Rotten Tomatoes Scores Of 2026's Biggest Movies

9. Digger (86%)

Digger Tom Cruise
Warner Bros.

It's hard to say too much about Digger considering the recently released teaser trailer gave us scarcely little to go on, but the mere fact that it's a black comedy starring Tom Cruise and written and directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu (Birdman) is enough to believe in it.

Cruise will star as "the most powerful man in the world" - whatever that means - who embarks on a mission to save humanity before a catastrophe he caused destroys everything.

Iñárritu's career has certainly had its ups and downs, with his most recent film Bardo landing wildly mixed reviews, but when he hits he hits, and it really feels like the stars are aligning here for Tom Cruise's long-awaited return to dramatic work.

The fact that the script has been written by three of the four people responsible for penning Iñárritu's Best Picture-winning Birdman - which rocks a strong 91% on the Tomatometer - is a compelling indication that this is an absolute banger in the making.

Digger probably won't be without a small subset of detractors given Iñárritu's confrontational filmmaking style, but expect rave reviews for the most part.
