Predicting Box-Office Of Every Disney 2019 Movie

8. Dumbo - $625m

Dumbo Live Action
Disney

Release Date: March 29

Disney have enjoyed great success so far with their live-action reimaginings, and they form a major part of their plans for 2019 (and beyond). First up is Dumbo, which comes from Alice In Wonderland director Tim Burton.

Dumbo doesn't have quite the same level of reverence and pulling power as Beauty and the Beast or The Jungle Book - it's not the kind of childhood-defining movie they are, nor does it seem to hold that much cultural cache these days - and the same goes for director Tim Burton too.

What it does have, though, is a great trailer that's generated some buzz and lots of emotional responses online, which should help it clear something like Cinderella ($543m), but it's unlikely to be a major hit. Disney have bigger things on the way, and Shazam! arrives a week later which, while it won't totally dominate, will eat into some of its audience.
