14. Alan Grant Returns - Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

One of the most intriguing aspects of the upcoming fifth Jurassic Park movie is the presence of Jeff Goldblum, who will reprise his much-loved role of Dr. Ian Malcolm from the first two films.

This makes it clear that writers Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly aren't afraid to dig even further into the nostalgia well, and so why not bring Sam Neill's Dr. Alan Grant back to the party too?

If Fallen Kingdom does indeed revolve around a volcanic eruption forcing the dinosaurs to be evacuated from Isla Nublar, then it's hard to imagine Grant not catching wind of it and at least passing comment.

While Neill is pretty much out of the blockbuster game these days, bar a hilarious cameo in the recent Thor: Ragnarok, him showing up at the end of the movie to offer his perspective would be a fun victory lap for the character.

Whether it's in the closing sequence of the movie or a credits tag, it'd be great to see Alan Grant one last time. As Ragnarok proved he's clearly not averse to grabbing a quick tentpole payday for a few hours' work, it just might happen.
