Predicting How 2019's Biggest Movies Will End
7. King Kong Arrives - Godzilla: King Of The Monsters
The second Godzilla movie in Legendary's MonsterVerse is intended to serve as bridge of sorts to 2020's now-filming Godzilla vs. Kong movie, and the fact that the first synopsis for that film was already released hints somewhat at how Godzilla 2 will conclude.
In addition to noting that humanity's effort to preserve itself sends Godzilla and Kong on a collision course, it notes that "a human conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the earth forever."
This could be interpreted as "confirming" an earlier rumour that King of the Monsters will end with a post-credits scene in which Charles Dance's currently unnamed character will set-up the clash between Godzilla and Kong.
You see, rumours have extensively pointed to Dance being the human villain of the MonsterVerse, playing a terrorist who wants to exploit the "Titans" for his own material gain.
Some even believe he may be an aged version of Tom Hiddleston's Captain James Conrad from Kong: Skull Island. The evidence is pretty compelling: the timeline matches up, Godzilla 2 director Michael Dougherty has even confirmed a Skull Island character will return and Dance's character remains curiously unnamed.
Whether or not Kong himself makes an appearance at the end of Godzilla 2, it sounds like Dance's character will be responsible for setting him and Godzilla on a path directly towards one another. Get hype.
