Predicted Release Date: 1st May, 2020 Now we're getting far enough into the future where we're talking about sequels to films starring heroes we've not even met. While in some cases this would be a shaky business, with Marvel there's a sense they know what they're doing well enough by now that we can assume any film with their logo on will be bankable. And with that in mind, let's talk about Black Panther 2. Chadwick Boseman, who'll play T'Challa, has a five-picture deal, which after Phase 3 assumedly leaves him with two left (he'll appear in Captain America: Civil War, Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War). They could keep him out of action just for the big team-ups, but as a unique hero he'd be suited to a stand-alone movie in Phase 4, particularly if, like Civil War, it opened itself up to a more explicit cross-over. If Black Panther doesn't prove obscenely popular (or Marvel decide to keep the character locked in for the long haul), there's always the potential this could be another Doctor Strange or Inhumans. At the very least, we expect the first film of Marvel's in the new decade to be a sequel to one of their newer characters.
