Predicting The Next 10 Movies That Will Make Over $1 Billion

2. Toy Story 4

The recently announced Toy Story 4 is a movie many don't want Pixar to be making. But you can bet Disney aren't in that camp; it's a guaranteed box office smash. Ignoring the amount of merchandise it'll shift, the film itself with undoubtably make more than a billion dollars. Even though it's a terrible idea, the nostalgic pull of the series is too strong. On top of those who grew up with the series (and turned out in droves to wave off their childhood with Toy Story 3), it'll have a major appeal to those who only remember experiencing the third film in cinemas. That's right - Toy Story will be so old by the fourth film that it'll be nostalgic to two generations of movie goers. Who said this was a creative decision again? This is the only animated movie to appear on this list. While this may say a lot about market saturation, it's more to do with what exactly is on the horizon. Disney doesn't have any movie that looks like it can match the success of Frozen, while the only other Pixar film with a distinct chance of making a big splash is Finding Dory. A sequel to Finding Nemo, which back in 2003 got most of the way to a billion, there's expectation for the film, but could it's incredibly superfluous nature hurt its chances? The likes of Minions, Despicable Me 3, Ice Age 5 will likewise be big hits, but none carry enough potency to make it to really massive heights.
