Predicting The Next 28 Movies Marvel Will Make Up To 2028

26. Ant-Man (2015)

Ant-Man seems to have been in production forever: way back in 2006, Edgar Wright was hired, and after a number of rewrites, the littlest Avenger will finally come to screens next year. Promising two versions of the same character - both Paul Rudd's Scott Lang and Michael Douglas' Hank Pym - it's likely that Lang is going to be the villain (or at least the anti-hero of the piece) as he steals Pym's invention to help raise money for his sick daughter. Could Patrick Wilson be the detective on his trail? Edgar Wright has genuine geek credentials, and he knows how to build a movie universe that links together, as he's proved with his Cornetto Trilogy, and you would be hard pressed to find any more charismatic a leading pair than Rudd and Douglas, even if there are concerns that Ant-Man is just a little too silly. The Cameo: The film is being very much presented as a stand-alone, so it's unlikely any other characters will appear in the main narrative, but Ant-Man presumably has to link up with the Avengers soon enough, so a visit from someone like Black Widow might fit to tell Lang that he's on the radar.
