Predicting The 10 Biggest Box Office Bombs Of 2018

7. Tomb Raider

Budget: $80 million (estimated)

Predicted Box Office: $130 million (projected $30 million loss)

Though there's no denying the brand recognition of Tomb Raider, even the bigger-budget Angelina Jolie-starring movies didn't set the box office alight, with 2004's The Cradle of Life grossing just $156.5 million against a $95 million budget.

Considering that Alicia Vikander isn't well-known to the casual audiences likely to consider seeing this franchise reboot, and video game movies are rarely financial successes, it's hard to believe Lara Croft's latest outing will even double its budget.

Above all else, the movie's out shortly but there's virtually no hype for it, and it releases a week before Pacific Rim: Uprising, which will surely cut its legs off at the knees.
