Predicting The 10 Highest Box Office Of 2015's Remaining Movies

Casino Royale had set the benchmark as the biggest James Bond movie in history when Martin Campbell's reboot earned $599m in 2006, but Sam Mendes' Skyfall surprised almost everyone when it became the seventh highest-grossing movie of all time during an incredible theatrical run that saw it finish up with $1.108bn in box office receipts. Now, Mendes will attempt to repeat the trick with the upcoming Spectre, further reinforcing 007's credentials as cinema's most popular spy.

Sticking with the 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' mantra, the 24th Bond movie reunites the director, writing team and composer behind Skyfall, as well as casting an Academy Award-winning actor as the villain, with Christoph Waltz in for Javier Bardem. Sadly, Roger Deakins won't be returning as cinematographer, but the production has found a more than capable replacement in the hugely talented Hoyte van Hoytema.

However, there are two major factors that could prevent Spectre from reaching the ten-figure mark at the worldwide box office; namely The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. These two huge blockbusters will provide plenty of competition for 007 that could limit its domestic earning potential, but Skyfall earned over $800m overseas, which is where Spectre will look to improve on its predecessor.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
