The original Flatliners actually ended pretty conclusively with no stinger tease for a sequel, but movies being what they are these days, it seems likely that Sony is hoping to spin this soft reboot into a new franchise of films.

It's a classic horror staple these days to end a movie with a final jump that sets up a potential next movie, and it's hard to imagine something this trashy-looking being restrained enough not to do that.
