Predicting The Next 10 Comic Book Movies From Worst To Best

8. Ant-Man (July 17, 2015)

Ant Man Star Ratings

What We Know: With all the publicity surrounding Avengers: Age of Ultron, its easy to forget that Phase 2's concluding movie actually hits theaters in less than two months.

While it will be undeniably awesome to see Paul Rudd play a superhero, a concept like Ant-Man could be a tough sell to casual audiences. After Edgar Wright left the project he was swiftly replaced by Peyton Reed, an uninspired choice who has never made a movie in his career that was any better than average.

With Wright and Joe Cornish's script revamped by Rudd and Adam McKay, the movie boasts a strong comedic pedigree, something that the trailers have surprisingly failed to play up so far, a strange move given how the very notion of a shrunken man riding on the back of an insect sounds ridiculous.

The Prediction: The publicity drive for Ant-Man has yet to hit top gear with Age of Ultron still dominating the box office, but the marketing materials we've so far haven't exactly elevated it to must-see status. While the Marvel brand will be enough to entice people to see the movie, the footage revealed so far has been a little underwhelming. While there is no doubt it will do well at the box office, there is still a real chance it could be Marvel's first genuine creative dud.

Predicted Rating: 6/10

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
