7. Wolverine 3 (March 3, 2017)
What We Know: After 15 years and seven appearances on the big screen, it was recently revealed that the third solo outing for Wolverine mutant will mark Hugh Jackman's final time playing the character.
With the end of an era on the horizon, you would imagine that the production team will be pulling out all of the stops to send the character out on a high note. While X-Men Origins was incredibly disappointing, The Wolverine offered a more introspective and character-based sequel, and was a great movie for the first two acts before the climax devolved into a generic CGI-afflicted showdown.
The Prediction: While plot details are firmly under wraps, Michael Green has been hired to pen the script, with the writer having some previous superhero experience, although this came with the likes of Smallville, Heroes and Green Lantern.
James Mangold has enjoyed a varied and versatile career, and with a comic book movie already under his belt the director will be looking to better his previous effort, and give Jackman's Wolverine the send-off he deserves, with the actor's trademark dedication and commitment to the role set to be amped up for his final outing as the character.
