Predicting The Rotten Tomatoes Scores For 2017's Biggest Remaining Movies
2. Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle (34%)
Predicted Critical Consensus: "Though benefiting considerably from its charming cast, Jumanji is ultimately a pale sequel that provides little reason for its own existence."
There's already a lot of ambivalence over the questionable necessity of a new Jumanji movie, and while The Rock in particular improves everything he's in, this is likely to be another critical miss for the big guy.
Expect Jumanji to be a glorified soft reboot that includes some so-so nods to the original but is mostly just a mess of CGI-infused mayhem with low-effort one-liners. It'll be tolerable like, say, the Night at the Museum sequels, but won't stick in the mind for long and ultimately fail to exploit a classic property in particularly entertaining fashion.
