Though it's no blockbuster nor will it score a huge wide release, Paul Thomas Anderson's new fashion drama starring Daniel Day-Lewis is sure to be an event movie in of itself, and short of a disaster, will likely be circling the awards conversation all the way to the final red carpet.

In fairness, not all of PTA's movies receive mind-blowing reviews, and there's usually a certain slice of critics who simply don't care for his deliberate filmmaking style, but Day-Lewis' sure-to-be-spectacular performance will most certainly receive raves regardless. Get hype.
