Disney clearly knows what they're doing with these new Star Wars movies, and critics are likely to praise The Last Jedi for being less of a nostalgia-fest than The Force Awakens, while taking more creative risks and opening up the universe even further.

The darker tone won't be for all tastes and some may lament the absence of Harrison Ford, but the farewell to Carrie Fisher's Leia is sure to leave critics and general fans alike reaching for the tissues, so it's hard to imagine this one not going down well.
