Predicting The Rotten Tomatoes Scores Of 2019's Remaining Blockbusters

6. Charlie's Angels (57%)

Sony

Much like Maleficent, Charlie's Angels isn't exactly a property that people have been clamouring for more of, but that hasn't stopped Sony from developing a reboot that's set to debut this November.

Fronted by Kristen Stewart and Naomi Scott and directed by Elizabeth Banks, the movie is the latest in a line of big-budget female-ensemble flicks (Ghostbusters, Ocean's 8) that have produced some mixed results.

While Ghostbusters was a box-office disappointment and was reviled by the fans, Ocean's 8 was a hit, but interestingly, both are rated fresh (74% and 69%, respectively). However, Sony's most recent attempts at reinvigorating popular brands - including the aforementioned Ghostbusters and the recent Men in Black: International - were disasters, which puts Charlie's Angels in a tough spot.

While it probably won't be terrible, it does seem likely to teeter on the edge of that fresh/rotten divide, but based on what we actually know about it so far - like its shoddy trailers, and the fact that this is only Banks' second directorial effort, and her first stab at action - it could easily go much lower.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
