Psycho 1998: 5 Reasons It's An Excellent Idea

3. Everyone Wants To See Vince Vaughn In A Serious Role

Though he had a small part in Rudy, Vince Vaughn's break-out role was as Trent, the smooth-yet-sleazy friend from 1996's Swingers. The film showcases Vaughn as a fast-talking womanizer, who uses his charms to get with ladies while forcing his friend to head out to Vegas. Vaughn then took his acting chops to The Lost World: Jurassic Park, to infuse the franchise with some much needed comic relief. But we can hear audiences asking-- no, begging-- for Vaughn to step up the serious even more and take the leap into some real drama. Psycho will prove to be the answer to those prayers. After this film, expect Vaughn's performance to be so adept and subtle that he may never trek to the doldrums of comedy again.
