Rambo: Last Blood Review - 4 Ups & 5 Downs

2. The Brutally Violent Finale

The editing, visual effects and lighting could certainly be better, but Last Blood's gratuitously violent finale should give fans at least some of the carnage they came in hoping for, even if it falls undeniably short of the 2008 film's outrageously gory climax.

Styled as a Skyfall-esque action film riff on Home Alone - but with dismemberment and total bodily annihilation - this sequence smartly skirts around Stallone's physical limitations as a 73-year-old man while serving up a relentlessly grotesque montage of dead goons left and right.

The visceral element is a little lacking due to the rough editing and generally slipshod pacing, but for fans of cartoonishly OTT gore, they'll sure get their fix.
