Ranking 2015's Summer Blockbuster Films From Worst To Best

1. Mad Max: Fury Road

Was anything else ever really going to take the #1 spot? George Miller's super-charged action flick instantly earned a place among the greatest films of the genre, an adrenaline-infused, beautifully shot and superbly-acted chase movie that doesn't let up from first frame to last. The story is simple but far from stupid or under-developed: the film instead focuses on its exceptional world-building, well-drawn characters and, of course, the main attraction that is the stupendously entertaining set-pieces. It's tough to imagine any fan of the series or action films in general not falling head-over-heels in love with this demented action masterpiece. Free of all the debates about gender surrounding George Miller's savage opus, it's one of the "purest" action films ever made, and makes mince meat out of every other film of the genre released this year. As proof that R-rated action flicks with economic use of CGI can succeed, it has few equals. Which movies did you love, forget the second you saw them and absolutely despise this blockbuster season? Shout them out in the comments!
